Privacy policy

This policy explains what happens to your personal data when you visit marqetlife.com, under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Last updated 25 July 2026

Who is responsible

The controller for data processing on this website is:

Edgar Fluijt / Marqetlife, Bergmannstr. 57, 10961 Berlin, Germany. Email: edgar@marqetlife.com. Phone: +49 173 4298919.

The controller is the natural or legal person who decides, alone or together with others, on the purposes and means of processing personal data.

What we collect, and why

This site has no user accounts, and browsing it does not require you to give us anything. Data is processed in four situations:

  • Server logs. Our hosting provider automatically records technical data when a page is requested — IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring page, and the time of the request. This is necessary to deliver the site securely and reliably (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, legitimate interest).
  • Analytics, only with your consent. If you accept analytics cookies, we measure how the site is used so we can improve it. Nothing is set before you agree (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), and you can withdraw consent at any time.
  • Booking a call. If you book a call, you enter your details in a scheduling window provided by Calendly. Those details go to Calendly and to us so we can hold the meeting (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, steps prior to a contract).
  • Registering for an event. If you sign up for a masterclass or webinar, we ask for your first name and email address only, on the basis of the consent you give on the form (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

Hosting

This site is hosted by Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA. Vercel processes the server log data described above on our behalf under a data processing agreement. Where data is transferred outside the EU, it is covered by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

Booking a call (Calendly)

Our booking links open a scheduling window from Calendly LLC, 271 17th St NW, Atlanta, GA 30363, USA. The Calendly script is only loaded once you choose to open a booking window — it is not loaded on page view.

When you book, Calendly processes the name, email address and any details you enter, along with technical data such as your IP address and time zone. Calendly acts as a processor on our behalf, and transfers are covered by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. Calendly's own privacy notice is available at https://calendly.com/privacy.

Cookies and consent

We use only what is necessary to run the site, plus analytics if you allow it. When you first visit, you are asked to accept or decline. Declining is a single click and costs you nothing — the site works the same.

Your choice is stored locally in your browser so we do not ask again. You can change or withdraw it at any time using the cookie settings link in the footer, or by clearing your browser storage for this site.

We also remember, in the same way, if you close an announcement or an event invitation on the site, so that you are not shown it again. That preference stays in your browser, is not personal data, is never sent to us or to anyone else, and disappears when you clear your browser storage.

Analytics

If you consent, we use Google Analytics, provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, to understand which pages are read and which are not. We run it with Google Consent Mode, so no analytics or advertising storage is used until you agree.

IP addresses are shortened before further processing. We do not use analytics to build advertising profiles of individual visitors. Google's privacy notice is available at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

Event and webinar registration

When you register for one of our masterclasses or webinars, the form asks for your first name and email address only. As with any page request, our host also records the technical server-log data described above. We use your details to send you the joining link, a reminder before the event, and any material we said we would send afterwards.

The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), given by ticking the box on the registration form. You can withdraw it at any time by replying to any of our emails or writing to edgar@marqetlife.com, and we will stop contacting you about the event and delete your registration. Withdrawing does not affect processing that already took place.

Registrations are stored in Google Sheets within our Google Workspace account, provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, which acts as a processor on our behalf under the Google Workspace Data Processing Addendum. Where data is transferred outside the EU, it is covered by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. We delete registration data within 12 months of the event unless you have separately asked to hear from us.

We do not add you to a general marketing list on the basis of an event registration, and we do not sell or share these details with anyone else.

Contacting us by email

If you email us, we process your message and contact details to answer it (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR). We keep the correspondence for as long as it is needed to handle your request and to meet statutory retention obligations, then delete it.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15).
  • Have inaccurate data corrected (Art. 16) or deleted (Art. 17).
  • Ask us to restrict processing (Art. 18) or object to it (Art. 21).
  • Receive your data in a portable format (Art. 20).
  • Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing that already took place.
  • Complain to a supervisory authority. For us that is the Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit.

Encryption

This site uses HTTPS for every request, so what you send cannot be read in transit by third parties.
